Cassi Carley is the Co-Founder and Senior Advisor at Ethical Tech. She previously served as the initiative’s President from 2018 to 2019. Cassi is currently earning her J.D. at New York University’s School of Law, where she is a member of the Privacy Research Group and the Co-Founder and President of Rights over Tech. She holds a B.A. in Public Policy and a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Computer Science. Her doctoral research focused on computer vision and AI, and her thesis included an application for detecting cell phone interaction to protect sensitive user data captured in surveillance settings. She is a former Fellow at the Duke Center on Law & Technology at Duke University’s School of Law.
